I have a prolactinoma, which makes it so I don’t ovulate. Went on bromocriptine and had one successful pregnancy. We are now attempting to get pregnant again and I could not tolerate either bromocriptine or cabergoline due to severe psychological side effects (which is apparently not that common, but does make sense as it acts on dopamine. I have an underlying anxiety disorder and just can not afford to go on them). My endocrinologist suggested trying traditional fertility to see if they can trigger ovulation in another way. The traditional and highly successful way to do this is with the aforementioned medications, but those are off the table for me. I’m looking for a reproductive endocrinologist who will be companionate and willing to think outside the box with me a bit. Does anyone have a recommendation? I’m in MD, and I know the default is Shady Grove fertility, but I’d love a recommendation. Thank you!
Most REs use Ovidrel to trigger ovulation. Can you just do that?
I have no idea. I was extremely lucky in that the first go round my issue was solved with a pill. This time I don’t seem to be able to tolerate that pill anymore, so I’m hoping the doctor has some ideas. I’ll look into Ovidrel.
