Indeed, you would think with how insane the housing costs are in Burlingame that the schools there would be top notch. Alas, that is not the case.

There are no gifted programs in Burlingame. They do pull outs something like 6x/year.  When my DC was in K-2 there, there was no differentiation.  DC was the only student in K reading chapter books.  Maybe it's different now. This was several years ago.

Also, get ready to pay something like $1250/year per child and increases in parcel taxes and bond measures  every year for "extras" like PE and art -- https://www.bcefoundation.org/faq

Lovely place to live, though.   I do miss the weather. Not so much the schools.  I recall that they  had parents volunteer to drive the kids to their field trips because there are no school buses in there.[/quote]
