There are no gifted programs in Burlingame. They do pull outs something like 6x/year. When my DC was in K-2 there, there was no differentiation. DC was the only student in K reading chapter books. Maybe it's different now. This was several years ago.
Also, get ready to pay something like $1250/year per child and increases in parcel taxes and bond measures every year for "extras" like PE and art --

Lovely place to live, though. I do miss the weather. Not so much the schools. I recall that they had parents volunteer to drive the kids to their field trips because there are no school buses in there.
