Thanks.  OP here.  Paid family leave (and childcare) is expensive, but it's critical for working families - if you want to keep families in cities you need policies like this.

But the bill could have been written better. As it is, it serves thousands and thousands of families who DON'T live in DC but work here.  It would be better if this was limited to just families who actually live in DC. But DC employers will have to pay for it and it won't incentivize families to move int the district.[/quote]

That's the nature of employment laws. DC's minimum wage law applies to residents of MD and VA who work in DC. [/quote]
