My child went to MCPS K. We lucked out in that the teacher was kind and sensitive. DS received group speech in school and private outside. Our child was speaking in sentences at that point though after years of intensive speech and LEAP. He just wasn’t fully intelligible. I assume your child is at least a year away from K since you’re just now looking for schools. If so, you might see huge improvements in the next year with therapy. DS made an enormous leap between 4 and 5.
I also wanted to add if the issues are only limited to speech, most mainstream schools are a possibility. Green Acres is particularly supportive. I believe they will let your SLP come in.
Don't rule out mainstreams. We did one and it worked out really well. Didn't look at Green Acres due to price and teaching style but there are some welcoming. My child made the most leaps after 1st grade so K age was very deceiving. For us, it was the small class size where teacher had time to take the time with each child, especially mine that made a huge difference. No way my child would have survived in a classroom of 24+ kids like they can now at that age.
