FCPS doesn’t do nearly as well on a take-home basis, which is why many teachers, especially those who are single and/or sole providers, leave for APS and other systems, because better retirement benefits in 30 years is only worth so much when you can barely make ends meet today.[/quote] +1 The teachers we know at APS (not ACPS) came from FCPS for the higher pay.
