If you're children are heading into middle and high and the local schools are not an option, what about TAG and the speciality programs? Because if your kids are high achievers, they should be able to test into one of the county programs for gifted students.
Not the OP but not all hard workers manage to pass the TAG testing and they are now firm with the 81% cut off on the OLSAT or other IQ test. I just had this happen with one of my kids. Straight A's, clearly gets the work quickly, above grade reading level but didn't pass the OLSAT. We had private testing done and they got high enough but just. They used to make accommodations but according to the head of the TAG office if they do not hit 81% they will no longer be considered for further testing. But with all thinigs PGCPS, things may change by the time someone calls them again.
