It's actually relatively easy to get to JFK from New Jersey because you can cut across Staten Island, cross the Verrazano Bridge, and take the Belt Parkway to JFK. You don't go through Manhattan at all. If he's already going to be in the car, and won't have to drive back and forth from Manhattan, and will have your carseat with him, it will not be that much extra driving to go out to JFK and then into Manhattan. Just make sure he uses Waze- there are a few ways across Staten Island, and traffic can change the best route a lot.[/quote]
