The guys you’re looking for are out there, but in far fewer numbers than the thrill-a-minute types. It makes sense when you think about it, the adrenaline junkies who get too bored with more mundane recreational activities are more likely to get bored with the mundanities of everyday, long-term coupled life, and thus to end up as single dads on dating sites, chasing the unicorn of a mature, responsible parenting life that’s constantly new and exciting and exhilarating. You’re right, though, that the things they say they want (a stable family life and high adventure) don’t often go together, so you’re smart to steer clear of those guys if you’re not looking for drama.
I second that. These guys want a stable family life, so the wife will take care of their kids together and his kids, while they run around doing “cool” stuff. My DH is like that, but made sure he appeared stable and normal in his online profile. I made it VERY clear to him I was not going to play step mommy/mommy while he is running around doing stupid sh**. Our marriage is a joint effort, but I constantly have to remind him that if he chooses to run around....he should not expect me to cover for him with his kids.
