Men don’t take selfies while make strange faces every 30 seconds. The only decent pictures we have are from group outings.

Women know that selfies are a bad idea for online profiles. Men like you apparently don’t know that.

Any man who takes online dating seriously is an idiot for this reason.

X100. Social media provides an attention high to women that rivals heroin.

PP, i agree with you. I do think the sites refrain from installing features to catch scammers, rhe scammers help to boost their numbers. As you mentioned, they also post bogus profiles. You can usually spot the scammers and fake profiles if you start to ask pointed questions about local matters.

As with any method of dating, you really have to be patient.

If the sites would randomly select profiles and then go to the associated Facebook page, along with periodic facial imagery checks, this would cut out the scammers.

It is very possible that some match and pof profiles are staged/fake. There are real ones yes--but aim beginning to think the sites post some to keep viewers interested- usually one photo, handsome, kids older than 18, short bio. Responds with few words back and forth and then fades. There are real ones certainly and I have met a few for dates but it is difficult nonetheless. Expectations/on both ends may be unrealistic. I'm thinking it has not been a good use of my time overall. Entertaining yes; matches no. (Two of 3 men I did go out with wanted to continue to see me/but for me, not clicking). Good luck and don't rush the process...

Assuming OP is serious, a woman who actually does climb mountains in her spare time probably burns off calories rather than letting them accumulate for years. Psychologically she is younger than the couch potato as well.

You’re right, though, that the things they say they want (a stable family life and high adventure) don’t often go together, so you’re smart to steer clear of those guys if you’re not looking for drama.

I second that. These guys want a stable family life, so the wife will take care of their kids together and his kids, while they run around doing “cool” stuff. My DH is like that, but made sure he appeared stable and normal in his online profile. I made it VERY clear to him I was not going to play step mommy/mommy while he is running around doing stupid sh**. Our marriage is a joint effort, but I constantly have to remind him that if he chooses to run around....he should not expect me to cover for him with his kids.

OP was being sarcastic. S(H)e is really writing about women's profiles.

I only encountered one guy like what you are describing (and dated him for several months). I found most of the guys online very boring. I also found that many men were turned off by the fact that I was an “extreme adrenaline junkie” who wanted adventure. They thought it was weird and wanted women with normal hobbies.

What are you saying in your messages? Perhaps you are coming across too strongly.

7 out of every 10 men online seem to be a single parent...so why do single moms get such a bad rap???

Amazing how many men are uber adventurous these days. The skydivers, hang gliders, tiger handlers, water skiers, globe trekkers. Looks like every man online nowadays is some kind of extreme adrenaline junkie. But they want a "sweet caring great stable girl with goals" who will ALSO be an extreme adrenaline junkie with them. Those don't usually go hand in hand.

Where are the normal dudes who hang out periodically with the guys, but enjoy cuddling at home, Netflix and chilling with their chick (and taking care of their kids)? Do these men even exist anymore??

Lot of online men have wanderlust and brag about how they "often" travel the planet, which is great for them but horrible for dating. How can we date when you're always away? How do you have time to be a present good single dad when you're always away traveling the planet?

Last but not least, some guys online point out they're looking for something beyond a hookup. Yet when you message them, it's crickets.

Guys online are so lame. Online dating is a sham. It's terrible nod very conflicting. Talk about mixed messages! Men have no idea what they really want.
