They did fairly openly just a generation ago, but no longer. They look for stellar candidates to create a balanced class, period. Tough year because more top schools are admitting in the single digits every admissions season. I work in admissions. [/quote] Many colleges also have initiatives underway to significantly improve percentages of URMs, Dreamers, etc. this year. This leads to looking more closely at public schools, especially in more urban areas.[/quote]
