He will be 60, with maybe-treated-or-maybe-untreated mental illness, no hope of a job. If he has family, he may be able to live with them, although that seems unlikely. What will he do when he is released? What is the point? Either give him a sentence with a hope of a life afterward or imprison him for life or, if we as a society deem his life of no value or his crime of such awfulness, then just kill him right now. I think our sentencing system needs to be 100% rethought and overhauled. [/quote]
