They show the exciting all-consuming rush of the initial falling in love, because that's the fun part. They don't show the aftermath 5,10,20 years down the line where the characters who were in fantasyland together have to go through years of daily life crap together. I hear you though. I have a good life and don't plan to leave, but I too am in what is, for me, a disappointing marriage at least on the connection to my partner level[/quote]
