She is alienated (not her choice) from her older kids because she left a cult.They have been brainwashed to hate her. These Scientologists are so deep into the cult, you can't get through to them. What is Nicole Kidman supposed to do? I can't imagine the pain she must feel over that loss.[/quote]

I'm curious, wasn't she deep enough in Scientology circles to know what could happen and fight for her kids? They were still fairly young when they divorced.  Surely she had enough dirt on Tom Cruise to put a stop to the suppressive person campaign.[/quote]

No, the way Scientology works is they will RUIN you if you leave. She's lucky to have her (non scientologist) family for support but when you are deemed a suppressive person, it's a done deal. It's psychological warfare and nonstop attacks and there isn't enough energy to fight. I think she thought when they married like most religions 'ok, he's this religion, I'm not, but no big deal' not knowing that you are either fully in, or you are out. There are lots of couples where there's one who is more fervent or does more to practice and it's no big deal. Not Scientology. There aren't couples were only one is a Scientologist.[/quote]
