No, I'll tell you what happened. I have always been super pragmatic so it never bothered me before. Unrelated to that, we've had some back luck since getting married - job issues on both sides, and just a lot of uncertainty and stress. So as our 3rd anniversary approached and we haven't had much luck (yet) getting our lives built like we had imagined, I said "You know what, if life is going to be such a pain in the ass, I'd at least like some flowers to cheer me up."
