I really loved her until the finale and ATFR. Maybe she wanted Bryan all along (as she's claiming) but her insistence on a proposal with Peter was totally ridiculous given that most of the Bachelor/Bachelorette relationships fail. If this was the story line that the producers were insisting that she play, shame on her for going along with it as Peter was clearly rattled (unless he's a great actor). She came across as such a smart, strong woman that if she really did love Peter, she could have done what she wanted and ended up engaged on their own timeline -- not the show's. Very disappointing overall and I wonder how Bryan (and his mother, lol) feel after watching last night.
I was thinking this too, except I think that the first Bachelorette that is a POC not getting what everyone else gets at the end of this just sits badly with me. If Peter stays away from all things Bachelor going forward I think we will know that he was genuinely rattled/hurt and got carried away into something he probably shouldn't have started, I mean this is not a new show. Its sad because that seemed really genuine between them, it was almost painful to watch. I think Rachel was still a little pissed at him when she watched the show back live and realized that the way it came across was that he sort of took away her choice, even though she kind of was the one that finished it when she said I don't want to pressure you to propose if that's not coming from you and walked away. Because it really did look like he only had 1 choice then, not that she made that decision between 2, even though she kind of did, just a day early. I don;t really blame her, it must be awkward to have to watch it with an audience and feel really wide open and vulnerable, so she went into sort of "i'm living my best life, this isn't for you but I wish you the best" mode, but in a really sort of defensive way.
