They are! I do not think South Asian men are unattractive. Growing up, however, [b]I mentally desexualized them[/b] so I did not actively look at them for romantic prospects. Media and culture tells me white men are the Prince Charmings and it takes a few years of maturity to get over that. By that point I was already in love with my current DH.

I think its just socially ingrained. How many times have you seen a romantic comedy where the lead is an Indian Engineer or an Asian Doctor?

When you grow up on that and are from a culture that discourages early romantic exploration, you learn what you can from movies and TV. When I looked at a white boy, I thought, "aha! romantic prospect!"
