I think its just socially ingrained. How many times have you seen a romantic comedy where the lead is an Indian Engineer or an Asian Doctor?
When you grow up on that and are from a culture that discourages early romantic exploration, you learn what you can from movies and TV. When I looked at a white boy, I thought, "aha! romantic prospect!"
So you're a South Asian woman who never saw all those Bollywood movies with the Indian leading men?
