Hayes Valley is a fun little area to wander around in - a bunch of cute shops and restaurants.  Also, go to the SF MoMA. Then take yourself across 4th St to the Metreon and go see a movie.

If you want chinese food, do NOT eat it in Chinatown.  You can go to these four places:
1. Yank Sing
2. Out the Door in the Ferry Building (or hell, take yourself to Slanted Door if you can get a reservation)
3.  Canton Dim Sum on Folsom Street off 3rd
4. Tao Yin in the Mission
