I don't see it as any different from the trend that more people are choosing to not have kids or wait longer to have kids -- if it had been a viable option in past generations, they would have too. Culture and society changes, and that opens options for people to do what they truly want instead of what they think they're supposed to do.

That said, if marriage/kids is important to a woman, I always tell them to make it a priority in their late 20's. The options don't get better, on the whole, as you get older. Shit you won't deal with at 26 is something you'd kill for at 36. [/quote]

It's not so much about options- I know I was focused on school and my career at that point and frankly, just going out and having fun.  I didn't meet my husband until 30 and I am glad- I don't think I would have appreciated him before that time.[/quote]
