When you have tests or procedures that require someone to drive you home after, who does it? I'm hesitant to ask anyone and might just catch an Uber.
I am single mom by choice. Ask if you absolutely need anesthesia for the procedure or test because there are times when you don't and it's for comfort and convenience. If they say you don't medically need it, then think about your own pain tolerance level and comfort and see if you are willing to go without. If so, ask them to direct you to facilities that will accommodate your request. They exist btw. The kind of service that you want to look for is a home health service that can provide an aid to drive you to the appt, wait, and drive you home and stay with you if you want. It's pricey but they exist. You could also get an CNA who has a day off and pay her to do this as well.
