How will it be a different story? There were 5800 seats for 5100 applicants in PK3 last year citywide. Just because you will only send Larla to Mundo Verde doesn't mean there is a dearth of seats. Until every school with white kids starts putting PK classrooms on the roof and in trailers (and even then), there will be applicants left out.[/quote]

So you might have to travel a little bit for your free, public pre-K. It is not compulsory school, and is not a right. To demand that a school build out a classroom for PK in upper Northwest when they see so much attrition before 5th grade is crazy.[/quote]

I'm not demanding anything.  Rather, I am pointing out that what is currently a relatively minor problem (not enough seats in the places with the kids) is about to be a much bigger problem in a few years' time. [/quote]
