First I'm ignoring the whole people are going to starve/die crap that's fear mongering Fed government will do what the constitution actually says mainly Defense/National Security type stuff Rest of the money will go to the states and each state will decide what they want to do... That's the end game Read some of the stuff Paul Ryan has put out it's all out there
Not a Republican, but this is what I would assume they "want" as well. It's consistent with what most of my Republican friends say, though I would also say that none of them think this will happen. They mostly want to scale back government programs, but they do not believe those programs will be completely dismantled. The trick, though, is what they place in the bucket of "what the constitution actually says". Pretty much no Federal programs are prima facia unconstitutional, or they would have been found to be by now and dismantled already. There seems to be a lot of self-service that goes into what is considered the bare minimum for a government to do. I would imagine most of them like having a national highway system, though I suppose most justify that on the grounds of national security whereas the primary benefit to date has been economic.
