Juventus DC Metro coming to VA? THIS. IS. AWESOME.

This entire thread is truly bizarre. First: we belong to a larger club on the MD side of the river. We actually like the Juventus approach though because it IS lower key at least for the younger ages. Less pressure for wins. Second: if my DS were to join Juventus, I would have zero expectations of anything other than a nice friendly place with good training. Certain no pro Italian coaching. Third: as you say, top-flight combines are hardly this team’s bread and butter... great that they are expanding to give a different type of option, but who could plausibly be threatened? Fourth: you can’t search IP addresses on DCUM. Imagine if that were really possible! So that leaves the likelihood that someone is being malicious, which brings me back to point 3. Honestly this is too weird for words.

Coaches going to Italy for one coaching training session does not make them great coaches.

FCGB used to be affiliated with FC Bordeaux a few years ago until they drop the affiliation. Cost them money for the affiliation without any value.

Does anyone else feel like this is the opposite? No one in marketing would put together an over the top post like this. At least if they wanted to keep their job. I think this was an attempt to create a negative conversation about Juventus. I’ll be honest I know nothing about the club. But it seems more likely to be someone trying to create negative publicity. I don’t know who or what club would have the most to gain by this but... just my 2 cents.

I agree

No. This seems highly unlikely because it is difficult to imagine any motivation for doing so. This is essentially a non-existent club. It has a handful of low-level teams in Maryland, and is trying to start one or two teams in Virginia. I highly doubt that any competitor is aware of its existence or feels even the tiniest bit threatened by it. Despite the hamfisted nature of the initial publicity attempt it seems far more likely that this was an attempt by the club to promote itself than the reverse.

This is my 1st time on this forum. I created an account in hopes it will show my username? Don’t know but we will see when I hit post.

Someone told me about this whole thing and I’m just utterly shocked. My family will be part of this Juventus 06G VA Affiliate team. And there is DEFINITELY a Club that benefits by doing this. It’s the Club we left and they are afraid girls on the team will follow us to Juventus. I’m not going to stoop to their level and mention which club. This is right up their alley tbh. And still I’m FLOORED either a parent from the team or someone affiliated with the Club would do this.

If anyone has questions about this team or the Club I will do my best to answer them. If I don’t have an answer I will get you one.

Thank you for saying this. Too weird for words is an understatement.

I’m going to ask DC Urban Moms to remove this post. I will create a new post for people to ask questions if they are interested or want to know more about Juventus in general.

Lol. I just got an ad on FB for Liverpool in MD. Probably because I went to Juventus in DC website yesterday. This is what it says in the ad. Nothing remotely hinting or misleading about scouting or international glory that would mislead idiot parents. What’s the uproar all about from these clubs?

This is exactly what was in the ad:

Learn to play the Liverpool way. A player-centered approach with highly experienced LFC accredited coaches allows for maximum development in every player and the team we work with.
*Play in the full LFC home kit!
*Individual Technical Development Plans
*Strength & Conditioning Staff.
*Sports Psychology Workshops
*College Prep Support
*Goalkeeper Specific Training
*LFC Tactical Workshops
*Position Specific Insight from LFC players
*Access to LFC exclusive online performance center

All a club has to do is hire British, Brazilian, French, Serbian or other foreign language-speaking coaches and they parents will be easily sold. LOL

And the point of contact is: Ali Khrizman

did Messi show up for tryouts?

I think there are several good coaches, actually. And the tryouts were like any other tryouts, as any normal person would expect. Again: this thread was clearly trying to undermine that team and should be removed. And no, I’m not affiliated with the club in any way, although DS is trying out.

I guess you didn’t ask for this thread to be deleted. Never trust a salesman to keep his word.

Who are some of the good coaches?

We recently moved from Montgomery County where Juventus is based and it’s THE CLUB to play for. My son played for this club before we moved. My daughter almost had a heart attack when she found out. If you have a solid 06G or 07G player sign them up to try out. This is an awesome opportunity for any player who is serious about soccer. We are so excited! And it’s Juventus. Hello?!?!? Cristiano Ronaldo!
