Do you have cotton reusable masks for your kids?

I don’t sew, but SIL is sending some for all of us. DD is too young to stay home alone and DH is a first responder with odd hours, so I may need to take her to the store with me at times.

No, my kids don’t go anywhere.

I ordered some with the pocket for a filter and they should arrive within 2 weeks. :/

I ordered some to be delivered next week. They're coming in a pack of 12 anyway. But, honestly, my kids haven't been off our property since they last went to school on March 13.

An Egyptian cotton pillow case with a high thread count (+400) works well. It has a tight weave and tend to be thicker than percale pillow case.

I sewed a couple that are adjustable. But, honestly when we have left the neighborhood as a family, we haven't come in contact with anyone other than Canadian geese. When my kids play outside there is rarely another soul out there and if there is, we stay far away or go a different direction. The CDC says that masks are to be used when you expect to come in close proximity to other people, like at the grocery store. Kids playing in the yard don't need them.

Just curious are your families wearing masks when walking In your neighborhood? In our neighborhood there is barley anyone outside when we go. If we pass someone we try to social distance. We are waiting for our masks to arrive in the mail but still want to enjoy the wonderful weather.

No. We wear only when going place where social distancing is hard to do (basically just the grocery store). When we go on neighborhood walks, we can easily stay six feet away from everyone.

Yes because he is four and on neighborhood walks (is e are in the city) I can’t trust him to not touch stuff and his face all the time. Plus I am wearing one anyway.

Our kids go nowhere, but we made some this weekend in case we had to take them somewhere unexpectedly (the ER)

Yes, our neighbor made them for all of us. I haven’t had my kids in a store since....early March? But I accepted the ones she gave us in case a situation arises where I have to take them to the dr or something.

I had to unfortunately take a child to the ER. We were given a mask before we stepped foot in the hospital.

But I guess it's a fun craft for some people who have the time and desire.

^^^oh and for the record the ER was DEAD. Like nobody there. This was the pediatric ER. No idea what the adult side looked like.

Years ago I bought masks for my kids when we were making pinewood derby cars so they wouldn’t inhale the dust when sawing.
I’m using them now lol

We wear masks when walking the dog. We went to Children's twice since March 13, no masks were provided, but CVS minute clinic did hand them out to those waiting. (Non corona virus issues for both visits)

For those who say its not important to wear when biking, might want to read up on research about droplets, spread, and impact.
