This BS. We need amazon and Whole Foods to be open more than ever right now.

I don’t shop there. Workers unite!

Of course I did! She giggled at me. Then I went to the manager. She was not very interested. Didn’t even ask me which cashier!! I’m done there.

And then I stabbed the cashier. The end.

And then the manager radioed for backup on Aisle 4 because the cashier was dead. The next mom in yoga pants put her Annie's bunnies and Horizon milk on the blood-covered conveyor belt, and life went on.

False advertisement, OP. Your anxiety attack is not what I'd think of as "scary incident."

And then to cap it all off, she wiped (I mean wiiiiiiped) her drippy nose with her latex-gloved hand then proceeded to bag more of my groceries. She and the manager couldn’t have cared less! Grosssss!! They should just shut down if they can’t do better than this.

The correct response: Gently note it to the cashier. If you're feeling especially salty, take it up with the manager.

Otherwise, stay home and order remotely. Bitching on an anonymous website accomplishes nothing.

You hear bitching, I hear public service announcement. On an anonymous website. I feel accomplished already thanks!

Why are you out in public, then? Order remotely. (I doubt cashiers at any other grocery store behave differently. They are human beings. Who are serving your ungrateful heiny, I might add.)

Perhaps you can wipe down your bottles, cans, etc. and move on without incident.

Remarkable how much ignorance there is even here. You should be scared of this pandemic. Should I come over and wipe my droopy nose all over your dinner table? It’s gross and scary.

Why not bag your own damn groceries? I would have said politely: "I prefer to bag my own groceries today, thank you". What are they going to say, no?

While I agree it was gross what you encountered it sounds like you just stood there and watched it all unfold. Say something!

Remember this when you order take out. Ordering take out won't keep the people from coughing on your food. No one is perfect but the only thing you can really control is inside your home.

I did that for sure. I thought I might go one better and alert folks who care about their health. I guess I’m in the wrong place! We should call this the Snarky and Stupid board.

Gross employee rubs snot on OP's groceries and OP is to blame? Okay then.

You need to re-examine your definition of “scary”.

I think you showed up here looking for brownie points. You haven't gotten them, and now you're butthurt about it.

Next time, talk to the cashier, talk to the manager, and order from home if you feel unsafe given what you've seen in the store. That's your solution, if not the backpat you were hoping to find.
