Overreacting, my son is 15 I still kiss him on the lips |
My 6yo DD knows it not our normal kiss, so she thinks it really funny to kiss me on the lips and then say, “Now we’re married!” |
I've said "no." |
We kiss on the lips (although I will say my 6 year old is doing it less and less lately). I do think lip kissing is a pretty common thing - considering at 4 yrs old, a bunch of preschoolers were kissing each other on the lips and the teachers had to send a note home telling parents to make sure their kids knew that lip kissing was for family only! |
I think it’s fine.
We’ve always done kisses between parent/child on the tip of the nose. |
Same here.. |
Me too. It's fine. |
My kids are all grown up so the kissing on the lips have stopped. When they were little? Absolutely. I would still kiss them if they want me to. Except, if any party is sick and contagious.
They kissed DH when they were little but stopped when they grew up. I grew up with a very demonstrative, very loving family. My mom is 75. I still kiss her and crawl in the bed with her to snuggle her. My college going DD will snuggle in my bed with me to take a nap. A daily hug and kiss is our vitamin of the day. We have to have one hug and kiss a day from all family members in the house. |
I don't do it because it just feels weird to me (DH is thr same). But I know people who do it and I have no problem with it. |
I peck my 5 and 8 yr old boys on the lips all the time. |
I love that my 3 and 5 year olds want to kiss me (peck) on the lips. I'm sure it won't last much longer, but for now it's the absolute sweetest thing. My family wasn't like that growing up and I wished we were more affectionate. I realized in high school and college that we hadn't hugged much, and I want my kids to know in as many ways as possible how much I love them. |
We are a very expressive, affectionate family so there are a lot of cuddles, hugs, lots of cheek and forehead kisses. Even multiple ones during cuddles on cheeks, big hugs and cuddles in our bed, that’s our night time routine. All four of us. But never on the lips. They see DH and do quick pecks all the time and a few times slightly longer but neither have asked. Ages 6 and 8. Both girls. |
Weird - I never even thought about this. I still kiss my mom and dad on the lips. I am 36. We kiss all our kids on the lips. |
