Offering me a ride?

This. Probably thinks you’re cute and wants to see what might happen.

IMHO the people that ride the train are generally nicer to each other than people that ride the metro. I suppose it might be because when you all take the same train at the same stop people's faces become familiar vs. the metro where the trains run continuously so you may not be waiting with the same people every day.

+1. Completely agree.
He gave you a ride, didn't he?

Sounds like a decent soul and a kind of heart-warming interaction in general.

I wouldn't read into it OP, unless your internal alarms are ringing.

Maybe introduce yourself and ask him his name though! That's the weirdest thing about this to me.

OP, I saw someone I know from my neighborhood walking in the morning and it was toward the metro so I stopped and offered him a ride (I'm female). I didn't know his name, I don't think he knew mine. But it was drizzly and kind of cold and I was in that kind of mood. I had no desire for anything from him - didn't even expect to see him again or honestly didn't even care to learn his name. I just knew that he lived in my neighborhood, saw him around a few times and that's it. That was about 2 years ago. Haven't offered again, rarely see him and when we cross paths we either nod or wave hello. Nothing more.

Why is it often the posters with actual DCUM accounts set up (ID etc) that post the crude replies? I've noticed 4/5 times the poster has a forum name they are saying something creepy.

Men are different

He could be nice and want a different kind of ride.

There are nice people in the world. However, they are getting harder and harder to find because people assume their kindness is something else and they are taught the hard way that being kind to strangers doesn't pay.

^^ x2. That OP thinks she is so hot he must be hitting on her is the real story here.

Right, because we all know men are usually helpful to random women without other motives

Because the posters with accounts are excapees from the explicit forum (which has died since requiring an account) where suck comment were common.
