Offering me a ride?

Anonymous
I live in a fairly walkable suburb and catch a 6am train. Lately a man I've seen getting on the same train has stopped to offer me a ride to the station. I accepted once due to rainy weather, the other two times due to laziness. We spoke once briefly last year when we were at the same pub watching a football game with our spouses; I don't think either one of us knows the other's name. He seems normal enough (I'm not getting any Ted Bundy vibes), but I mentioned this scenario to my friend and he was horrified and thinks this guy clearly wants a different kind of ride.

Thoughts? Are people ever just nice?

Probably just nice. Unless you are unusually hot. Then who knows.

Did he offer the rides before or after you talked at the pub?

If it’s after, he was probably just being friendly since you were someone he knew.

If it’s before, and you were just a random woman- my guess is he wouldn’t offer a random man a ride.

Did you introduce him to your spouse "as the nice guy who gave your a ride" and tell his wife what a great guy he was to give you a ride in the rain?

After, but by a few months. I'll chalk it up to just being friendly then. I tend to cynically not believe folks are nice for no agenda.

Does he think you’re single?

Like I said, we briefly saw each other's respective spouses once months ago. But then again he might not remember this seeing as it was at a pub

Three rides and you haven't even asked him his name? How nice and friendly is that?

You don't think you know his name by the first ride? How did he pick you up in the first place? "Hi mam, we met at the pub, want to catch a ride?"

Ted Bundy's victims didn't get Ted Bundy vibes until it was too late

I'd say...

30% chance he's just being nice
70% chance he finds you attractive and is hoping it develops into something more
