How often do you iron?

I've somehow avoided ironing for years. I have a steamer and use that about once a month. But as I wear more button down shirts nowadays it's inevitable that I'll have to iron. Just looked up wall-mounted ironing boards and got a sticker shock.

Never.

I haven't in about 8 years. I take clothes out of the washing machine, gently stretch them so they're not wrinkled, and then hang them.

Rarely. Like you, I steam whenever possible (including my button down shirts).

At least once a week. I must admit that I love ironing. When I have the time to spare, I iron my sheets.

I assume I’m an outlier.

Never. Like my mother before me, I don't own an iron, and I avoid buying clothes that wrinkle easily (linen!) and have to be ironed. On the rare occasions something needs ironing, like my daughter's fancy dress, my MIL volunteers to do it at her place in exchange for watching my daughter try stuff on and getting input into dress options. Win-win.

My mother actually did buy an iron when I was about 10 -- to use purely for those 1990s bead art projects that required ironing or baking. She didn't want to turn on the oven in the summer.

Maybe once a year? I take most things that would need ironing to the cleaners anyway. I don't iron casual clothes, sheets, etc.

Can we be friends? I actually don’t mind a bunch of other household stuff, but ironing sucks my soul. Maybe we can trade?

Weekly. DH wears button downs to work. I just spend like 20 minutes on it while we watch TV. I also iron drapes (just hung new ones last night) and my own clothes occasionally.

About three years ago we were in a hotel and I got out the iron because my 7 year old son's shirt was wrinkled. He asked "what is that?" I'd probably get the same question today because I haven't used one since.

Every Friday, I do it myself.

Love a sharp crease on my shirts and pants! Nice, finished look...

I pretty much iron every day whatever I plan on wearing the next day. Even my t-shirts come out wrinkled. Maybe I'm using the wrong setting on my dryer. In any case, I don't have enough closet room to hang everything I own.

Every day. I iron whatever I'm wearing to work every morning. "Wrinkle free" and pressed are two different things. I like my clothes - particularly skirts and button down shirts pressed.

I also iron sheets and pillow cases on laundry day.

Rarely ever. If something I really want to wear happens to have wrinkles I might iron it, if 20min in the dryer doesn't get it sorted (it normally does).

Why would you iron sheets? I never understood this, if you grab the sheets from the dryer why would you need to iron them?

Never. My DH irons his work clothes but I never learned how and don't plan to. Everything I wear is wrinkle-free or -resistant, and can be spritzed with water and tumbled for 5 minutes if I'm in a bind.
