OP here. These are fun suggestions. I hadn't heard about some of these places. I think I'm the bigger restriction than she is - I'm pregnant so can't do sushi and I scare easily so probably won't be doing a haunted dinner... even cheesy scary gets to me.

DD likes a lot of things, from pot roast and mashed potatoes to squid and spicy soups. She really loves anything in the form of soup... if only Stanton Social was a tad cheaper those french onion soup dumplings would be perfect for her tastes. The pickles place looks good too!

I'm also considering Tsurutontan for gigantic bowls of udon.

The French onion soup dumplings are amazing. I have never had anything else like them.
