Elizabeth and Isabel?

I know it's the same name in 2 languages, but is it weird as an American family if we name our daughters Elizabeth and Isabel??? I love both names!

Go for it! Both are beautiful names.

yes it's weird. Perpaha try Anna and Ana?

I agree that I love both names, but it's a little weird. I know that they're the same name, but I bet 90% of Americans wouldn't know that.

It's weird. I know a family with a Carlos and a Charlie. Also weird.

Assuming you already have the Elizabeth, what about Isadore or Elanor? Or Amelia or Alicia?

Instead of Isabel, what about just Bella?

I know a family of twin girls who did this. Very weird. Pick one.

Very weird. I would think you didn't know they are the same.

I know someone who named her girls Ella and Lola -- and regretted it because they sounded so close people screwed it up all the time.

I think you will regret this.

I'm an Elizabeth. I would think the names are similar but not the same at all.

So go for it.

They just sound too similar.
Anonymous
Yes I think weird. Maybe Annabel instead?

Also wanted to add I didn't even know they were the same name in different languages and still would think they're too similar.

It's weird but I guess ok as long as they don't end up being called Lizzie and Izzy
