Big Bethesda House

Yikes.

I checked property records and googled the owner. Says he owns a stone and tile company, so there's your explanation.

He used to be chief bodyguard for the Shah of Iran in the 70's before the revolution. He's a blackbelt in Taekwondo. His daughter runs an interior construction business. That explains a lot, though some of the finishes look cheap at least in the photos, like the door handles on closets.

The exterior design is weirdly proportioned. Just kind of gawky - like they took designs for a smaller house and just stretched them.

This is for a multi gen family with staff.

fugy

I'd much prefer a small, cute cape or colonial.

At this price, buyers would want to remodel the house to its own taste.

Overall very meh. Exterior kind of looks like a retirement home.

The exterior is very 70's/80's, which was a very unfortunate time in residential architecture.

How MUCH do I hate a home like this.... everything about it is awful except, 1.27 acres sounds good.

Is that an offset garage door next to the main garage door?

It's two 2-car garages.

There must be a reason it's been on the market for 5 years. Oh wait--intersection of two very busy roads, on top of the 495/270 split, bear the DCA flight path waypoint, and it's freaking hideous. Good luck to the seller.

Extremely ugly. What's up with the weird curtains. And that kitchen is so gross.

How is it that a house that is so high-end is not staged with furniture. Seems so weird.
