Do you Drink? Do your Friends?

No, just plain old sex.

So far, I can do some easy magic tricks, and have sex, after drinking. I do not do both at the same time.

We still have kids in the house so I don't drink as much as I would otherwise. Would probably drink one everyday, 2-3 on Saturday.

Cut back. Wine red and rose maybe 2-3 x week. DH cut back too. But some of our friends can still polish off quite a bit. Most have cut back

Do not drink much any more. The drinking friends are very antisocial if you don't drink and lots of pressure to drink with them.

I'm OP - thanks for all the great responses. More drinkers than I thought, but still practicing moderation. TGIF!

I can hardly drink at all now. My body just doesn't seem to be able to handle it. I almost instantly get a stomach and headache and very easily get hungover. It's just not worth it any more. Definitely age-related. When I think about how much I drank when I was younger... can't even imagine doing that now.

Now 47. Cut way back this year. It just makes me feel way to crappy nowadays. I hate feeling shitty on the weekend.

Occasional glass here and there.

I probably have about 3 drinks a week or so, almost always on the weekend. I enjoy it, but have always had a low tolerance and have never been a big drinker.

I have friends who drink more -- ranging from a bit more to a lot more -- with whom it might be a bit awkward if I did not drink at all. That's something that I don't entirely understand -- it makes no difference at all to me whether someone I'm socializing with drinks or not.

There seems to be a bit of a gap opening in late middle age. There seem to be some for whom drinking more often and having drinking as an integral part of socializing (after kids have grown up) is important, as well as those who drink less, little, or not at all (for health or conscious lifestyle reasons)

I'm 62 and I'm cutting back simply to reduce the calories. When I drink I tend to eat more and I'm sure it adds up to an additional 500-700 calories a day. If I cut our drinking except on weekends I'm able to lose a pound or so a week. My SIL cut out drinking two beers in the evening and lost 30 pounds in about six months.

Hubby retired 5 years ago...his drinking has increased to the point he becomes drunk. This happens sbout 3 times a week and always when we go out with friends. He has a problem which is ruining our marriage..of course he denies it.

My drinking habits are one drink on occasion now. I am late 50’s. It makes me feel ill
