My fiancé is so similar to my dad

Anonymous
My husband is also like my dad. Both Midwestern, both calm and reserved, both loyal and committed husbands and fathers. Also both easily upset by conflict.

Interestingly I dated a bunch of guys who weren't like this at all - my now-husband is the only one I've ever dated who had these characteristics.

Lucky for you, you are one of the lucky ones!

Grammar Police PSA: It should be "We females" and not "Us females."
LOL! I read it as US(A) females and wondered why she thought females in the rest of the world were different.

Someday I hope my daughter will say that about me.

My husband is of a different race and culture, but underneath that, he has a lot in common with my dad, and gives me a similar feeling of being loved. I think it's a normal thing, if you had a good dad, to look for those qualities in your partner.

And I'm the total opposite of his horrible monster of a mom.

I WISH I had married someone just like my Dad. My Dad is awesome. My husband is... very different. I'm sad about it now - especially now that I'm pregnant.
