Predictions on Trump's Presidency

He's going to surround himself by smart people who have private sector experience which is what our government needs. There are not many things that are better when run by the government so why not bring a little of the private sector efficiency and accountability to the govt. I know I'll get flamed for this, but I do think this is what our country needs - a chance to fix a lot of things that aren't working and not worry about getting elected again, just doing the job right!

Smart people like Corey Lewandowski, Stephen Bannon, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, and Ted Nugent? No thank you. The worst of the worst.

McConnell is already saying No. Trump is not going to shake up anything.

Sometimes businesses do a good job, efficiently. Other times they declare bankruptcy a lot. We got the wrong kind of businessman, unfortunately.

He's going to repeal ACA and all of Obama's executive orders, especially the ones having anything to do with immigration. Other than that it'll be a bunch of empty posturing.

Shutdown the H1B Visa Fraud

The H-1B program allows employers to bring skilled workers (usually with college degrees) to the United States on nonimmigrant visas. The three-year visas can be renewed for another three years, and the visas can be kept alive, virtually forever, if the employer has applied for a permanent immigrant visa for the worker in question. There are some minimal and ineffective labor market protections for these workers. Under all circumstances they can bring their spouses and children (under H-4 visas) with them to the United States – and under some circumstances these aliens can work legally; there are no wage protections for the H-4s.

On the first map, there are over 2,000 employers identified who, actively and publicly, prefer alien workers for at least some jobs to U.S. ones. The formal name for this group of employers sounds like it comes from the field of abnormal psychology: they are "H-1B dependent." This is the definition of the term: an employer with 25 full-time workers or fewer, with eight or more of them H-1Bs; with 26-50 workers, there are 13 or more H-1Bs; and with 51 or more there are 15 percent or more H-1Bs. Most users of the H-1B visa, in general, are not H-1B dependent.

just for one, Realsoft Technologies from Herndon, owned by Indian Vijayapal Pailla., filed 131 labor condition applications for H1B visa and 21 labor certifications for green card from fiscal year 2013 to 2015,

They are going to repeal Obamacare with nothing to replace it except maybe tax credits for premiums. Republicans don't want to own a health care program and thei R governors don't want it either.

Republicans will never fund high speed rail. That would benefit the people in cities who voted overwhelmingly Democratic.

Not all leaders are wanna be jock males who would be impressed by his golf clubs. Pelosi or May or Merkel are not likely to want a golf date and he can't have locker room talking golf outings with male leaders but not the women.

No comment on the kid. Leave him out of it.

Thousands of these companies replacing american workers

Supreme Tech Solutions in Tysons Corner owned by Indian Govindaraju Sathya

177 labor condition applications for H1B visa and 29 labor certifications for green card from fiscal year 2013 to 2015.

US citizens no need to apply.

Glassdoor comment - Run by a street vendor. Don't waste your time, energy working for such companies.

Subsidized by Hilary and Democrats push for H1B Visas for Silicon Valley and Wall Street.

A failed, disgraced one term president who won't get anything done because when you govern YOU are the swamp. He didn't even win the popular vote, essentially a LOSER as president.

Are you crazy? The H1b program is loved by corporations, irrespective of their political affiliation. If anything, Trump will expand the program. It doesn't matter what Trump said, that is what he will do. You didn't really believe he would end the program, did you?

Well, that's the big question. Is he going to continue to portray himself as an anti big business populist, or is he going to fall in line with Republican/conservative business orthodoxy?

He said everything to win. Now that he lost but still won the presidency he will let the GOP govern.

I haven't read all the responses, and I want to be clear that I didn't vote for Trump or Hilary because I didn't feel either of them were the right person for the job, so I'm probably feeling less disappointed by this outcome than a lot of people are. Shocked was my initial response but I've settled into a let's see mode.

I think there are a couple of things that might go well. One is the congress and president will be the same party so stuff might actually get done. Whether we like that stuff is another matter. I really want to get rid of The Unaffordable Care Act, so I'd be on board with changes to that.

Next, Trump isn't a politician so I don't think he really has any allegiance to the republican party or anyone else. He can will do whatever he wants without worrying about pissing off the wrong people within the party. I think that has the potential to be a good thing (but like anything else in life it could also go horribly wrong.)

Lastly, Trump has filed bankruptcy and just walked away from stuff in a tiff that he might not even make it four years. He might get a year into this job, realize it's actually a lot of hard work and his enormous ego might take a beating and he'll say I don't need this job, I'm rich and smart, see ya and resign. Who knows.

I think unless he really surprises everyone that he'll be a one term leader and if nothing else, both parties will have 3 yrs to shape up and find good, solid, electable candidates.

Now that he's won both houses for them, the GOP Congress is going to handily run over him and pass its own agenda:
-massive tax cuts for the rich (thank you) and a bone to everyone else (as an example, I put in our HHI in the Tax Policy Center calculator followed by that of a family that makes one-tenth of what we make. Our Trump tax cut is more than 30 times theirs).
-repeal of Obamacare, either wholesale or piecemeal (by removing the subsidies and the requirement to have insurance)
-repeal of a host of financial, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
-privatization of social security and medicare, gutting of Medicaid, food stamps and the EITC.
-massive increase in military spending (good for our region), which may necessitate a war to justify it.
-gutting of the Department of Education and the EPA, for starters.
-federal right to school vouchers for any parent who wants them.

They'll use the usual bogeymen to distract the population: abortion, DOMA, crime (especially by immigrants), etc.

As a good businessman, Trump should know that the C-suite does not let the advertisers actually run the business.

Trump won't survive one term. It will be too much work and too boring fro him so he will find some excuse to bow out.

That, or he will be indicted for tax fraud and impeached.

My prediction is that we will be saying hello to President Pence at some point before the end of his term.
