*nod* I never doubted his guilt for a moment. It in no way excuses his behavior, but do feel some sympathy for the screwed-up life he lived. He was pushed to be a performer way too young, and it seemed his parents didn't do nearly enough to protect him. He was a deeply troubled man, and I hope he's found peace. |
He was accused, never convicted, after the boy's parents got 22mil out of Jackson, they dropped the charges. You can BET that if there were overwhelming evidence the state would have gone after him like rabid dogs. If you watch the entire Bashir documentary, at the end you are convinced that MJ is a STRANGE dude, but as far as being a molestor, not so sure. Someone with that much money and such strange behavior with children is completly open to opportunist parents. |
He bought off the parents, with someone willing to be a accuser/witness, there is no case. I saw the entire documentary and felt certain he was guilty. It is wrong for a grown man to surround himself with that many children. Abusers need access to children, and what better access than building an amusement park in your own back yard. He had plenty of time to groom the children, and gain the their trust, and the trust of the parents. |
RIP Michael. My husband and I are musicians and feel incredibly indebted to him for our interest in music and mourn his passing. He was a troubled man. NPR has a good, fair eulogy.

Definitely screwed up. I wonder if his eccentricity stems from being an overly sensitive child growing up in an abusive household dominated by an overbearing and tyrannical father. |
Sure couldn't have helped. That, combined with early celebrity = no good. |
I remember having Michael Jackson notebooks in grade school...with his yellow vest and white shirt. And my Thriller lunch box...haha! Man, I still can't believe it. My whole class was sad tonight, until we tried to moonwalk to Wanna Be Startin Somethin, and then we rolled on the floor with laughter. What a day. |
A fitting tribute. |
I must whip something up to Keep it In the Closet—my favorite MJ song. ooh and Billie Jean, Beat It, Scream, and Smooth Criminal. So many great songs...I have lots of work to do this week! |
Uh, what about the ever-whitening skin and the missing nose?
The guy was freaky. |
Anyone thinking suicide or an overdose? |
I did hear something really freaky about getting a certain body part whitened recently. I agree, pretty freaky! I think his nose falling off was the result of too many nose jobs. |
My immediate thought was suicide. My husband thought drug overdose, but from mood stabilizers or something. |
Overdose, a la Elvis or Anna Nicole Smith. Too much access to prescription medication and too few people who'd stop him. http://jezebel.com/5302723/jackson-family-spokesman-this-is-a-case-of-abuse-of-medications |
Vitilago (sp?) is a real skin disease. I thought it was a bullshit excuse until I met a gentlemen with it. If you think his gradual lightening is disturbing (for lack of a better word) looking, you should see it *untreated*.
Anyway, I always felt sorry for him. His life had to have been difficult and lonely. I too hope he's found his peace at last. Gods all rest his soul. |
