I'm at my wits end in my current job, and have decided to start planning a fresh start. Do you like your job, and if so, what do you do? |
Getting laid off from my desk job was the best thing that ever happened to me. I LLLLLOOOOOVVVVEEE my job with all my heart.
I started a new dance class today...teaching an outreach program for low-income teenagers. What a TOUGH crowd to win over, but it is a wonderful feeling to motivate young people (many of whom are overweight) to get active, forget their problems for awhile and have some fun. It's a blessing to see them smiling and moving. |
I love my job. I am a lawyer. |
I have an engineering degree and work for the Navy as a program manager of a science and technology program. I LOVE my job also! |
Curious, what type of engineering? |
I like my job. I'm in health policy.
It is not my dream job but I enjoy it and I'm learning a lot. I also have a very "family-friendly" schedule. My dream job would likely not pay as much, plus it's a lot of work to find a family friendly job if you aren't already in when you have a baby. So I will likely wait until the kids are older before getting more aggressive about a job search. That, and I have to figure out exactly what my dream job is! |
I love my job. I am a professor. |
I spent a long time in a job that made me unhappy - one of the hardest parts of staying in a frustrating job while I tried to figure out what I wanted to do instead of spend my days wishing I didn't have to get up and go to work was that it was very hard to figure out what I DID want to do.
It took some time, but eventually I was able to figure out what parts of my job I liked and which of my skills could best translate into something else. I went from a job in health policy to one as a writer/editor at a university, and I'm so happy I made the switch. Good luck finding something new - don't be afraid to apply to things that seem really different from what you're doing now or have done in the past. |
I love my job - I'm an economist. |
I'm an occupational therapist and I love my career! |
I am a fundraiser. LOVE LOVE LOVE my job. Can't stand my boss. It's a trade off, I guess. |
I love my job. I'm a librarian for the federal government. |
But everyone who works for you hates their job. Trust me. |
I love my job. I am a social worker. |
No. I do not love my job. I want to pull my hair out most days. But they pay me decent, let me work part-time and overall treat me like a human being.
I used to love my job. That was many managers ago and when the environment was one where I was allowed to express my opinion. |
