This is a little simplistic. If more people knew more about Gary Johnson, more people would dislike or "hate" him.

You're struggling with Bernie's crash and burn, and I get it, but I do wonder why you look to a white male Libertarian as your backup option. Is it the weed? Because that's not really a great reason.

You're right that I originally supported Bernie and like his ideas, but I am glad that Hillary got the nomination because I think she'll be better as President. You'll notice that my comment about Johnson was far from an endorsement (although you're also right that I agree with him about weed). I will work and vote for Hillary, but it bothers me that half of my fellow citizens will hate the result. Unfortunately, it may not be so much about Hillary as about the polarization of the country, where each side demonizes the other. You can see it right here on DCUM.

But what if Democrat operatives, in significant numbers, voted in the Republican primaries with the express purpose to get Trump elected? I do not know any conservative Republicans who voted for Trump --they all voted for Cruz. The other Republicans I know voted for Rubio. I do not know any Trump Republicans because Trump is more of a Democrat than a Republican by the things he stands for. Fiscally conservative maybe but socially liberal like most NYCers.

Most Democrats I know look at Hillary with great suspicion, and they talk as if they'll need a barf bag going into the voting booth to vote.

Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist weirdo, just trying to understand how so many Republicans voted for Trump. I admit politics is not my area of expertise.

well, it started saying outrageous, loose cannon things from the beginning. he told a widely recognized war hero (McCain) and he does not like people who get caught (Trump was born in 1046, so he was an adult during the Vietnam war and the draft but he never went to Vietnam that I know of, interesting to find out how he avoided the draft, maybe he was in the Texas National Guard with G. Bush), said that women who get abortion should be punished, that Mexican immigrants are rapists and other amenities like that no candidate ever said before, all this before nagging the nomination, and he still got it. so it does not seem like he is torpedoing his election, he is doing what he has been done from the beginning.

I am the PP and I am flabbergasted why Republicans would vote for him. You can see I am reaching here, trying to explain it. What I wrote borders on absurdity or weirdo conspiracy theory but I cannot for the life of me understand what kind of Republican would vote for someone like Trump. I do not hate Trump, I liked his show Apprentice until disrespectful, snotty people got on and the show devolved more into contestants arguing with Trump than completing the challenges.

I am a Republican and I voted for Cruz. All the Republican I know did the same, or they voted for Rubio. Maybe I live in some small world of my own that is a subset of a subset of Republicans. I don't know. Cannot explain Trump.

I really have not followed Trump or listened to his speeches but apparently he is saying something that appeals to people. I guess I just do not have in common with the people who like all that Trump is saying. I will vote for Trump becasue i detest Hillary Clinton as I did Bill Clinton. When I vote this year it will be not for Trump but against Clinton (or Suckey Sanders if he had won)
