Did you actually look at the results? Here's Trump's FEC disclosure: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/2175187-trump.html What's clear from this is that he forms a separate LLC for every property he owns. THAT is the source of the "500 businesses." Laughable. |
And you own....how many businesses now? Plus you're reading skills suck. From Wikipedia The Trump Organization has interests in real estate development, investing, brokerage, sales and marketing, and property management. The company owns, operates, invests, and develops residential real estate, hotels, resorts, residential towers, and golf courses in different countries, as well as owning several hundred thousand square feet of prime Manhattan real estate. It lists involvement in 515 subsidiaries and entities with 264 of them bearing Trump's name and another 54 including his initials.[ |
I used to work in the real estate development industry and previous poster is right -- developers set up each project as a separate corporation, but the corporation is just a shell to protect the real company from liability in case the project fails. Nobody thinks these are separate companies. If you are going to count each one as a separate entity, then Trump has way more than 10 bankruptcies. For example, if you look at the bankruptcy filing for the Trump Taj Mahal, it's actually 10 separate companies that all went bankrupt together. See the footnote on page 6: http://www.njb.uscourts.gov/opinions/JHW/docs/2010/R09-13654TrumpConf.pdf |

I have no idea how many businesses Trump owns (nor do I care), but for the record, 4 out of 500 is .8 percent. |
So a multibillionaire would slap his name (his brand is really his only worth) on steaks, ties and wine? And a multibillionaire would start up a phony Trump University, target low income folks, claim to have hand picked the instructors and donate all profits to charity (which he did not do).
So a multibillionaire would proclaim that he is self-funding his campaign then instead LOAN his campaign money and then scramble to fundraise to pay himself back about 30 mil? Nope - Trump is no billionaire. He does not pay taxes because he has huge loses and carries about half a billion in debt. Sorry - his business acumen is nothing to boast about. |
Creating shell holding companies and LLCs that are used for ill-fated endeavors like Trump Steaks, Trump Mortgage, Trump Water and Trump Wealth Institute (renamed Trump U) really doesn't prove all that much when he was in way over his head in the casino/resort industry and Trump Shuttle. Trump is a middling developer with a penchant for flashy projects like Trump International DC and Mar-a-Lago that are more about his ego and brandname than generating cash flow. Read this snd then tell us some more about his entrepreneurial genius: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/01/17/business/what-donald-trumps-plaza-deal-reveals-about-his-white-house-bid.html |
Trump is going to make this country rich again. Read his financial disclosure form filed with FEC, very little debt, huge asset unlike the Obama/Clinton economy. |
Have you read it? Can you actually read it? Because it's what we are all making fun of. And that Wikipedia entry posted above is hilarious and totally written by Trump. 264 of his entities and subsidiaries "bearing Trump's name and another 54 including his initials." Ooooooooooooh. Why the F is that relevant to anyone but Donald Trump, who loves to put his name on everything? |
Do you know how wikipedia works? Internet is pretty useful for many things, however even elementary school children are taught these days not to researching for facts in wikipedia. Please learn. |
.004 percent, .8 percent? Whatever. I think we can all agree that 2016 is the year of "facts don't matter" I will chime in on the thought that I am not at all impressed by his management expertise or his development of talented employees. Mitt Romney, for instance, seems to have had a stronger track record on these things and he didn't win his election, so maybe it doesn't make a difference. |
Trump needs to release his taxes. |
Gawker has a good list of Trump's many business failures:
