What's clear from this is that he forms a separate LLC for every property he owns. THAT is the source of the "500 businesses." Laughable.

I used to work in the real estate development industry and previous poster is right -- developers set up each project as a separate corporation, but the corporation is just a shell to protect the real company from liability in case the project fails. Nobody thinks these are separate companies.

If you are going to count each one as a separate entity, then Trump has way more than 10 bankruptcies. For example, if you look at the bankruptcy filing for the Trump Taj Mahal, it's actually 10 separate companies that all went bankrupt together. See the footnote on page 6:

To the "you're reading skills suck" PP - and that was a thing of beauty, by the way, if we're going by Trump's rules, I own four businesses, since I own four properties that are all in separate LLCs. None of which have gone bankrupt. But who knows how many of those "businesses" I would own if I had inherited a real estate empire from my dad.

I have no idea how many businesses Trump owns (nor do I care), but for the record, 4 out of 500 is .8 percent.

Nope - Trump is no billionaire. He does not pay taxes because he has huge loses and carries about half a billion in debt.

Did you read the article? Read people read - and do your your research. Trump PLAYS a businessman in TV, very different from actually being a successful businessman.

Creating shell holding companies and LLCs that are used for ill-fated endeavors like Trump Steaks, Trump Mortgage, Trump Water and Trump Wealth Institute (renamed Trump U) really doesn't prove all that much when he was in way over his head in the casino/resort industry and Trump Shuttle. Trump is a middling developer with a penchant for flashy projects like Trump International DC and Mar-a-Lago that are more about his ego and brandname than generating cash flow. Read this snd then tell us some more about his entrepreneurial genius:

Do you know how wikipedia works? Internet is pretty useful for many things, however even elementary school children are taught these days not to researching for facts in wikipedia. Please learn.

.004 percent, .8 percent? Whatever. I think we can all agree that 2016 is the year of "facts don't matter"

I will chime in on the thought that I am not at all impressed by his management expertise or his development of talented employees.

Mitt Romney, for instance, seems to have had a stronger track record on these things and he didn't win his election, so maybe it doesn't make a difference.
