Men, do you color your gray hair?

Anonymous
My husband uses henna from Henna Hut to color his hair, eyebrows, and mustache. Works great. Doesn't look unnatural at all.

Absolutely not. Hair color for men is like botox for women. It looks fake, everyone knows what you did, and it gets turned into a laugh. I'm a man in his 50s who actually likes the look of his silver hair. I'm not 25 anymore and I'm okay with that.

You look old, bro.

No, have salt and pepper hair. Never have even thought about coloring it.

Prematurely gray man here - about 90 percent gray at 45. I would never die my hair, not in a million years. It's part of how I am -

Anonymous wrote:Please don't. You can tell, and it looks worse than the alternative. I have two friends' husbands who dye their hair. I want to shake them and tell them to let it go salt & pepper (or just salt!), but I'm clearly not supposed about the hair dye.

Yeah, when I think about doing away with a double standard, I'd usually prefer to go to the standard that is less restrictive. IOW, rather than making it de rigeur for men to color their hair and for men to be judged for looking "old," how about instead we move towards it being okay for women to have gray hair?

Do you believe the same thing about women?

Would you look at me - 50 and about 75% gray - and think that it's part of who I am?

I refuse to color my hair. I colored it when I was younger b/c it was fun - not to cover up anything. started coloring it in HS

Now that I'm graying, I refuse to add chemicals to my system. My hair is healthy. Why fuck with that?

But I am curious about the double standard. Is there one?

I'm 50. I have friends who are early to mid-40s who are trying desperately to fight the aging the process.

I really can't wait until (or maybe IF) they come into their own. They don't have time to do it all. So they will either focus on their body or their face/hair. Instead of trying to maintain a balance by accepting a bit of weight gain and embracing the wrinkles, they battle aging.

Everyone get's old, "bro." Soon you'll no longer be turning heads. What will you do then? Jump off a bridge b/c you were too stupid to develop your personality beyond "Bro Land?"

bro - love it
It's what the muscle heads at my job all call each other. too bad the head muscle isn't brain matter

I'm a middle-aged man who actually likes his gray hair. That said, I have actually no problem at all with women who have gone gray. Frankly it can be very attractive on younger women who have gone gray early. No double standard on my part, at least.

Women look ugly with gray hair and so do men. Dye it already.

You, PP, are one ugly person on the inside. I'm guessing you're a trolling millennial.

I couldn't disagree with you more. I have zero problem with men who color their hair, whether it's obvious or not (and usually, it's not). Not choosing to go grey doesn't mean you aren't okay with not being 25, it just means you are choosing not to go grey.
