Has anyone done this online? Trying to find the best site where I will get the most for my bags. Specifically, I have 2 Chanel bags in like-new condition that were gifted to me and aren't really my style. I'd love to sell them and buy something else instead! |
Tradesy perhaps? |
there is a website called Rebagg I think its pretty good. |
Are your bags authentic? |
There are quite a few consignment shops in the area Current boutique. Ella-Rue in Georgetown. Reddz Trading Co. In gtown & Bethesda. Secondi in Dupont. new to you in Falls Church. |
Ann's Fabulous Finds! http://www.annsfabulousfinds.com/
I have a bag listed with them now, and have been very happy with their customer service. |
The Real Real is a good resale site with authentication services |
Ann's Fabulous Finds (online) are really good, and they sell a lot of Chanel - and you'll have a national audience of buyers. I haven't sold any of my bags to local consignment stores, but I think Olga's in Pallisades are supposed to have a good reputation for sellers. I don't like Secondi's rules so I haven't taken anything to them. |
14:25 here, wanted to add that if you take some decent pictures of your bags and send them to Ann's Fabulous Finds, they will give you an estimate of what they might list them for. Then you can decide whether you want to send them in for listing or not. |

OP here. Thanks, all- very helpful!! |
One more tip: if you have thought of doing a yard sale, be sure to mention in the ad for it on CL that you have designer goods and jewelry (or whatever) in your description. I did a yard sale last October and mentioned that I had designer bags in the description, and I was contacted by a couple of professional sellers who visited the night before the sale and I was $1000 up before the yard sale started and I got the price that I wanted for things. |
Are you serious? That sounds like an invitiation to get robbed. A Channel bag is between 3 - 5 K on average...I don't want some CL yard sale dweller cold calling me. |
+1 -or showing up at my house! |
PP here, I had a couple of 15 year old LV bags and a couple of Hermes scarves that I wasn't using. Made sure my husband was home and the person was a woman and was legit and brought cash. And I appear to still be alive and I wasn't robbed. When the person emailed me they seemed legit and I talked to them extensively on the phone before inviting them over. That was my experience. |
