Match City PCS Shaw. Waitlist Stokes #22. 2nd Grade (we're new to DC). What are our chances for #22 Stokes? (1st choice)

Two kids in the lottery this year -- one PK4, one 2nd.

Matched nowhere, waitlisted everywhere. Was prepared for this. Still bummed though.

I actually think there are a lot of people shut out. The other threads are full of them. They just haven't chimed in here yet.

Yeah, they are nursing their wine-and-Xanax hangover. Give them a couple hours to recover.

Some of the people who were shut out are clearly already in somewhere, but are looking to trade up, and are looking for upper grade spots. These people mostly put down schools that are in high demand, so the fact that they are shut out is not surprising.

Curious did you apply to IT or CMI?

not sure IT is a middle school option. did apply to CMI and got a good number. i think it's too far for us though.

Why would CMI be an option but not IT? Isn't IT's middle school further along?

For preK3:
CMI - 78
ITS - 52
Lee - 30
Haynes - 33
Bridges 9
Matched with our inbounds; we'll probably stick with it unless we get offered Lee.
