Beds in hotels

Anonymous
Do you dress any differently for bed in a hotel room than at home? I've got some business trips coming up, and someone was recently telling me that bed bugs are actually very common so it's good to have little to no skin contact with the bedding. I never gave it a thought before, and I think it might be paranoia, but wanted to get others' opinions.

Depends on whether I'm hooking up with someone.

That's paranoia. Makes no difference to me whatsoever.

I rub myself all over with duck fat. Messy? Yes, but it prevents the bed bugs from being able to get purchase, and you survive the night unbitten.

No. I wear the same stuff.

Reason number 10,167 to hate hotels.

I'd be more worried about bringing the critters home through your luggage.

I am not worried about bed bug bites. I would be worried about bed bugs getting on my clothes. As such, I sleep nude.

It is paranoia, and not grounded in any sort of fact.

Nope. Sleep naked at home and away. Happy to report I've never gotten bed bugs

Full footie pajamas and saran wrap to make sure I'm fully bug-proof.

To do any less is to invite disaster, OP. Consider yourself forewarned!

I do sleep with PJs close by in case the fire alarm goes off and we have to evacuate in the middle of the night.

You could check out the bedbug registry if you are concerned.

I am the OP of a thread back in July about not taking baths in hotel tubs. So clearly I am a careful Carol. That said, I never really thought about this.

I tend to sleep in PJs in hotels, but I don't see how what you sleep in would help. If they are in the bed they are going to bite you. If they are in the bed they are in your hotel room and basically you are in big trouble.

Check hotel reviews or whatever the bed bug registry is and just sleep in what makes you feel comfortable.

Forgive me, Carol, but if you don't use the bed or the tub, what do you do? Play "the floor is lava?"

As stated I am not this OP but the OP of a thread a few months back. Therefore my point was that EVEN I never gave this a second thought.
