How old were you when you had your second (or third)?

I'm 35 now and just had my first. I always thought I'd stop at one given my age, both in terms of it being more difficult to get pregnant and also in terms of wanting to enjoy a little "me" time without young children in the house by the time I'm in my fifties. Now I'm reconsidering because, well, having one has been incredible so far.
I'd love to know when other people had their children and how they feel about it after the fact. Or, alternatively, when others are planning to have their second or third and how old they'll be. Just looking to hear other people's perspectives. thanks in advance. |

| i had my kids at 37, 39, 41. I thought like you i would stop at one but getting pregnant for the first was the hardest. The second was a surprise and the third was a whim. |

I had my first soooo easily at 28. I figured to wait a little while for number 2. Well, here I am 32 and have been trying without success to get pregnant for 14 months. I wish I had started when #2 was 18mos. I now am faced with having to go to a RE and the whole thought of going through fertility tests is exhausting, overwhelming, and depressing. |

| I'll be 36 when I have my first this summer. We plan to have one or two more (haven't decided, and a lot will depend on how fast it all happens as I'd like to be giving birth for the last time around 40 give or take a year or so, but of course we can't plan that sort of thing). It was easy getting pregnant with the first -- if we are lucky enough to have the same ease, we'll do number two within a year and a half of number 1. Probably kind of crazy! Good luck OP. |
