A reasonable but firm and direct viewpoint from the Moroccan-born Rotterdam mayor

Anonymous
The mayor of Rotterdam, who is the son of a Moroccan imam and who immigrated to the Netherlands in 1976 said this, addressed to other Muslims in Europe. He might be Dutch PM someday.

'It is incomprehensible that you can turn against freedom,' Mayor Aboutaleb told Dutch current affairs program Nieuwsuur (Newshour).
'But if you don't like freedom, for heaven's sake pack your bags and leave.
'If you do not like it here because some humorists you don't like are making a newspaper, may I then say you can f*** off.
"Vanish from the Netherlands if you cannot find your place here."

Mayor Aboutaleb, who represents the Dutch Labour Party, de Partij van de Arbeid, has long had a no-nonsense approach to immigration and integration.

Speaking to the Observer shortly after his appointment he said his message to immigrants is 'stop seeing yourself as victims, and if you don't want to integrate, leave'.

This week, London Mayor Boris Johnson hailed Mayor Aboutaleb as his 'hero' and 'straight to the point'.
'That is the voice of the Enlightenment, of Voltaire,' Mr Johnson wrote in the Daily Telegraph.
'If we are going to win the struggle for the minds of these young people, then that is the kind of voice we need to hear - and it needs above all to be a Muslim voice.'

Sounds too reasonable.

Love this guy! Sounds like Biden. Of course, critics will say it isn't PC or that he's missing the point (ie: that it wasn't a protest against freedom).

What irks me about the "religious" Muslims is how the rich and powerful ones love to travel to the US and party like rockstars since they don't have to pretend to follow their religious rules. Ask anyone who works for a high end hotel in NY, DC, Miami, LA or Vegas about Arabs who rent out the fancy suites and entire floors, rack up $100k in room service and party with dozens of prostitutes. Apparently that's cool...as long as they don't draw any cartoons I suppose.

How many religious Muslims do you believe exist in the world? It is, perhaps, just possible that the people who rack up $100k bills in hotels are not necessary the only type of religious Muslims that exist?

Just a thought, just a thought.

No religion is free of hypocrites.

What irks me is that bigots like you take these anecdotes and judge a whole religion by them.

Saudis are the worst. They are all over tysons 2 and one park center.

From 2013, Immigration and Customs Enforcement says it called Fairfax Police to help get the women off the property, which is at 6024 Orris Street in McLean.

Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) said Saudi Arabia has been faulted in the past for abuse of a special visa program that allows foreign diplomats to bring household workers into the United States.

"They bring them in; they work them seven days a week; they take their passports away," Wolf said.

The compound -- with three security gates, a guard shack and security staff on foot patrol -- is owned by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to Fairfax County real estate records.

A man outside the gates who said he works for the embassy told News4 the homeowner was at the embassy Wednesday, and vehicles driven in and out of the gates had diplomatic license plates.

“The U.S. State Department is aware of this matter,” said spokesperson Patrick Ventrell. “Diplomatic security is aware of the matter, and we’re working with the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, specifically Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

Shelia now has an attorney, immigration attorney Regina Njogu. An investigation revealed the Saudi diplomat who brought her to the U.S. used a domestic worker visa known as an A3 visa.

“I called the embassy, and I spoke with him,” Njogu said. “At first he didn’t know what I was calling about. When I told him what I was calling about, he said he doesn’t care, because he’s a diplomat nothing will happen to him.”

To 19:22 - I'm not a bigot. I have close friends who are Muslim. But that doesn't mean I can't be irked by the high rollers (who are religious, political and business leaders in their countries) party like rockstars with prostitutes while their wives are at home being oppressed. I am similarly irked by Christians who cheat on their wives. And that local rabbi who spied on the women in the dressing room. Etc.

That doesn't mean I judge an entire religious group based on these folks. Rather, I am irked by these specific perps. And that's what my original post said. But maybe you are too stupid to read?

Or like the great Khloe Kardashian tweeted, "How many calories did those bitches burn jumping to conclusions?"

You generalized about the rich and powerful ones. They aren't all like that.

I generalized about the rich and powerful ones who party like rockstars with prostitutes at high end hotels in our country. My apologies for not being specific enough, pp.

Oy vey are you a neurotic, hypersensitive baby.

Hans and Frantz would call you a little girly man ;0)

It is not hypersensitive to point out what you are doing. I am not one of these people, so it's no skin off my nose.
