A reasonable but firm and direct viewpoint from the Moroccan-born Rotterdam mayor

What irks me about the "religious" Muslims is how the rich and powerful ones love to travel to the US and party like rockstars since they don't have to pretend to follow their religious rules. Ask anyone who works for a high end hotel in NY, DC, Miami, LA or Vegas about Arabs who rent out the fancy suites and entire floors, rack up $100k in room service and party with dozens of prostitutes. Apparently that's cool...as long as they don't draw any cartoons I suppose.

No religion is free of hypocrites.

What irks me is that bigots like you take these anecdotes and judge a whole religion by them.

Yes, and that happens quite often with much agreement from other posters on this forum re southerners, conservatives, Christians, and Republicans. People should be judged as individuals.

Ok, pp.

Let me try this again.

I am irked by the *individuals* who claim to be good Muslims who adhere to all religious rules and are oftentimes religious, political or business leaders in Arab nations who party like rockstars with prostitutes in high-end hotels in NYC, DC, Miami, LA and Vegas while their wives are left at home (oftentimes suffering oppression).

This is the original statement I intended to (and IMHO did already make) make. This statement in no way, shape or form disparages all Muslims. If you think it does, then you obviously can't read. Or, maybe the problem is that you have been brainwashed into tolerating such abhorrent and deviant behavior under the auspices of being PC...which is both dangerous and sad.

Sometimes the citizens of dcumlandia suck the joy out of everything by over analyzing posts incorrectly and jumping to ridiculous conclusions that have zero basis in reality. Again, I blame poor reading skills (on their part...never on my part).

And I stand by the wise words of the great Khloe Kardashian:

"How many calories do bitches burn jumping to conclusions?"

So wise, Khloe.

PS - I have friends who work in these hotels who have told me about this (for decades...different cities, same situation...but fairly routine in DC for obvious reasons). The stories are amazing! The hotel F & B managers have to order special food and booze from other countries prior to their arrival (very high end stuff in large amounts they wouldn't necessarily keep on hand). They've learned that the hotel won't, however, provide prostitutes...so the Arabs have to do that themselves. Again, high end, and oftentimes flown in (from LA). Dozens. And they prefer stereotypical American looking women (blue eyes, blonde hair)...and very young.

Lastly, sometimes the men run up and down the halls naked...and that's why the hotels have learned it's best to encourage them to book an entire floor. The hotel staffer who has to work that floor has the best stories. The BEST. It's like a cross between girls gone wild and a bizarre frat party with old chubby Arab guys with the maturity levels of 14 year old boys. That's all I will share. You can imagine the rest.

Wasn't Vegas where the 9/11 terrorists went to chill and plan? Very pious these ones.

From.what I've heard of the gulf states people party like.mad behind closed doors and off shore. The 'rules' are just for the peasants. I actually like traditions and rituals but the absurd level Islamic leadership takes it to is not something they themselves follow. It seems to just be a form of mob control; but now the mob is in control like in SA and the leadership si freaking out over what they've created. Frankenstein.

Funny you say that because they actually videotape their antics.

The Rotterdam mayor wasn't speakng to the high rolling Arab hypocrites who visit Vegas, however vile they may be. He was speaking to radical disaffected Islamists living in Europe and his point is very valid.

Thanks Captain Obvious!!!

We realize that. We merely got off on a tangent. This is dcum, and threads often deviate from the original post. In fact, sometimes threads are derailed entirely --- this is called hijacking.

Completely valid. I immigrated to France from a Muslim country and my family assimilated. We did extremely well.
Charb's girlfriend, Jeanette Bougrab, is from a background very similar to mine, except her parents were working class and virtually illiterate. She became a minister under Sarkozy.
