you don't know any family in need?

why people think that charity has to be done through a organization?

go to the house of the family in need and offer the toys.

oh, I forgot... you don't have time for it, right?

and anyone who knows about the existence of bed bugs/pests in their homes know exactly what to do to get rid of the pests.

do you give away/sell your infected mattress? NO
so why do it with stuffed animals?

yes, its simple but people now a days seems to have different (individualistic/selfish) priorities.

ok ok ok... I know.

Get a grip and lighten up.

They are stuffed animals.

I really doubt anyone was actually going to use them for a bonfire.

I hear humour and levity add years to your life.

But I don't give away or sell mattresses either - majorly gross. Almost as bad as giving away used underwear. I'm confused.

you'll get a grip and light up when you see what kind of objects poor children use for toys.

Oh brother.... no one is bashing poor kids who need toys. Get over yourself. Yes, it is sad. Does everything need to be taken in that direction?

if you're not the one in the cold out there wondering what your child will eat for dinner you don't need to take it in that direction.

just close your eyes, and imagine a perfect world.

maybe it will become true.

This is a thread online about stuffed animals. We make several large monetary donations to charities, sponsor a family during the holidays and volunteer to hand out food at Thanksgiving. I also make sure my teenager is involved in the community and does lots with the Boy Scouts to support the poor.

What do you do? Really, every thread does not need to turn into a "there are poor kids out there".

Oh my gosh! There are poor kids out there??? *smacks head*

Seriously, it's hard not to turn some of these threads into farce threads. There is one that was just started on donating toys and clothes to needy families. I was so tempted to post a question asking if they take stuffed animals.

Everybody knows there are poor children, here in the US and all around the world. Those of us who can try to do something about it. But I agree that every thread on this forum does not need to turn into "think of all the poor people." Like the poor possibly depressed woman who was looking for help yesterday and today and was told she should listen to "Proud to Be An American" and volunteer in a soup kitchen so she could see how much better off she was. Yeah, 'cause that's such a proven method of treating depression. I wonder if the makers of Prozac know about it?

it's easy to say such things when you're in your office typing and they're out there in the cold, hungry.

unless you were out there and hungry you'll NEVER understand.

Get off your butt, put the lapto down and GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT THEN. Whining to us about poor children won't make a difference. DO YOU UNDERSTAND that you could be doing something rather than yowling at us?

Stop fighting already. Send them to me and I'll ship them to the Philippines. We ship care packages regularly to my family there, and they distribute to people in the town.

Zumba, would you send mens and womans clothing? I have nice items I can no longer wear as I stay home and have moved out of the size 2/4 range.

SEE HOW IT WORKS?

I'm in front of my laptop now because someone decided to feed my family when my parents fell ill and me and my brother were not old enough to get out there and work for food.
Today I know exactly how it feels and my life revolves around creating and executing plans to extinguish poverty.
no, I'm not a nobel prize winner and I'll never be.

I don't let my left hand know what my right hand is doing.
