I wish I hadn't told everyone about this site

OP here. I want to dish on specific situations regarding friends and family, so changing sexes wouldn't work. Let this be a warning to all new posters!

To stay anonymous, I once used changed gender and a poster started challenging me. Ha. That's the whole point of this board.

You should try to keep the gender consistent throughout your post at least. Once you pick a gender for your story, stick with it.

Even though I am mostly a lurker this is exactly the reason I only talk about this site in vague generalities e.g. "The internet" or "my parenting forum". Like a toddler: mine, mine, mine!

OP you would be surprised how common many situations are. I have lurked for years and could have written many different posts.

OP, pretend you don't live in/near DC.

+1000 I break it down by topics: The Jobs Forum, The Relationship Forum, The Schools Forum, The Money Forum, etc.

Lmao I didn't know people do this! Now I'm going to try to figure out who is lying...

I haven't told anyone, my DH reads though so there's that. I still say whatever I would if he didn't, even when it's about him, have said, so far hasn't been a problem.

I know, I keep thinking my DH is sending me veiled messages through DCUM. Honey, is that you?

LOL same here. My friend told me about this site and I wonder if she knows when I'm writing! I think another friend of mine may have read a story that I posted about the problem between her kid and mine. Opps.

Of course they aren't! What men in their proper mind would be here??

There are lots of men on here. I introduced it to my wife. Men don't tend to ask dumb questions or crowd source family decisions like some of the women do on here but we are here.

Another man here. I learned about this site from a neighbor and told my wife about it.

I would guess at least 20% male on the entire site.

I have been "DCUM outed" by someone who recognized my story, and there used to be a thread about people that have been outed on DCUM. We all agreed, it's really shitty.

I have mentioned this site to a few people, but only acquaintances who know little about my life. Plus my best friend, but she works long hours and is not the type to spend hours on DCUM.

However I don't agree with your stereotyping men - many would perhaps not write so effusively as women, but some do, and it does not make them obligatory homosexuals.
