Geez, I wondered why there were so many men posting! Ha! There aren't! |
Hysterical! |
I recognize one of the more anti-NCS posters. She's posted enough to give herself away, and writes in a very recognizable style. |
I never discuss what websites I visit with my friends, but I know FOR A FACT that at least one of my friends reads and posts here because I recognized several of her posts. |
Only one person has ever dared mention the name of the site to me and I played dumb. About a week later there was a post in food asking for a recipe for something specific and I thought, funny, that's what the host of tomorrow's dinner party said in the email that the other guest could bring. The OP of the food post replied to one of the recipes given saying that's what she ended up making. Sure enough, what exact dish what brought to the party? It was oddly specific with ingredients she couldn't use, how it would be served, what the host was making... And it was written in her very distinct voice. As much fun as it would have been to call her out on it, I can't bring myself to admit that I'm here, or risk her recognizing any of my posts. |
what is anti-NCS? |
There have been quite a few posts that sound exactly like something that's happening with me. But they aren't me! And then I wonder if my friends, who also read DCUM, will think it's me too. |
I totally agree. I could have written some really specific posts but it was someone else. There really is nothing new under the sun and if, by chance, you are outed - deny, deny, deny. As for men on DCUM. I introduced my DH to it. He's not on it a lot but I do bring certain posts to his attention and he's been known to lurk when he's bored. |
But how do we know if our friends are on here or not??? Some of mine are (which I didn't know for quite a while). Be careful what you post! |
Mine are not. Told all of them about the site, but they forgot or didn't listen or are too busy or don't care! |
+1 |
Excuse me? A good quarter of the readership is male. Have you confused this with being a womanspace or something? It's not. |
Try youbemom.com |
I hope the SIL who wrote the obnoxious letter is on here and sees her scrubbed email on public display. |
If I'm posting about someone who could be on here (basically anyone we have met since living here), I change details and always assume they could be reading it. I even get nervous about posting about the ILs even though they live 8 hours away, and don't do much online. (But really, the ILs don't live 8 hours away - I was afraid if I used the real number, someone would be able to pinpoint exactly what street they live on, so I adjusted the number. I'm officially nuts) |
